This Catholic Priest Secretly Married Two Wives And This Happened

Reverend Father Peter Zuni

A Catholic priest in Kaduna state, Nigeria, has been sacked for allegedly secretly marrying two wives.

Reverend Father Peter Zuni, 54, was in charge of Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, Kakuri parish, according to a report by the Sun newspaper.

The report said one of the women is dead and that it was the second wife who blew the alarm on the relationship. She is said to be nursing a child for the priest.

The development is said to have embarrassed the church and in a bid to prevent the news from spreading, they organised a send-off for Father Zuni to a remote village in the state.

One member of the church was quoted as the priest was ignored during the send-off.

“During the send-off, the priest was not allowed to make a farewell speech, and many people refused to take photographs with him. There was little or no felicitation with him because most of the time he was seen standing aloof under a mango tree without anybody going close to him.

‘Nobody can say when the priest committed the alleged sinful act. If it happened before his ordination, he wouldn’t have been ordained, so probably it was after his ordination, and you know, God does not sleep, no matter the length of cover-up, one day the bubble will burst. And the bubble has burst now,” the member said.

Reverend Zuni is said to have spent 30 years in priesthood before he was sacked.
