Actor arrested for "robbery"
Nollywood actor and director, Ifeanyi Azodo, has been arrested by the police in Onitsha, Nigeria, for alleged robbery.
Police say Azodo was arrested after someone filed a robbery charge against him.
“There was a case against him and we just invited him to make statement and we released him on bail because it is a ‘bailable’ offence,” a police commander, Abubakar Yahaya, was quoted as saying.
The police did not comment on what exactly Azodo did but reports say he got into a fight with a 30-year-old man he invited to his hotel room.
The management of the hotel is said to have intervened and called the police, after which the man, Stephen, accused Azodo of robbery.
Stephen has declined to speak about the matter.
