Wow! Wiyaala Reacts To Sharing Stage With Her Idol Yvonne Chaka Chaka

Ghanaian Afro Pop Singer, Wiyaala 

It is easy to tell by her appearance and overall direction in music from where singer Wiyaala draws inspiration.  One of them is legendary African songstress Yvonne Chaka Chaka, whose songs “I’m Burning Up”, “Thank You Mister DJ”, “I Cry for Freedom”, “Makoti”, “Motherland” and “Umqombothi” have been popular anthems on the continent for decades.

Come September 24, Wiyaala, who is among Ghana’s most viable music exports, gets to alongside her idol at the annual African Legends Night organized by Global Media Alliance, which the South African star is scheduled to headline.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, she adored the African and global icon, accompanying posters of the event with truly heartwarming messages:
This year, the event which has also sen performances from such greats as Hugh Masekela, Femi Kuti, Freddy Meiway, Gyedu Blay Ambulley, Amakye Dede, and Ben Brako, will also see Amanzeba, Nana Tuffour, and Akosua Agyepong thrill patrons.

Noella Wiyaala (known under the stage name Wiyaala)  sings in her native Sissala and Waale dialects, as well as English. She shot to national prominence as member of Ghanaian band Black N Peach (winners of Vodafone ICONS 2012). She has since gone solo and become a global performer. She’s currently brand ambassador for PepsiCo in West Africa, as well as Converse All Stars  for Ghana since 2014.

She’s currently signed to Djimba World Records, and JTV Digital.
